LOCAL WILDLIFE UPDATE
The local pine marten has been busy around Arrina. They like to come out at night and eat the snacks left for them.
We saw our first Porpoises of the year in the bay in front of the cottage in mid February.
There are plenty of signs of Otters nearby but they are very shy creatures and you have to be patient to see one.
There are sea eagles nesting on nearby Sheildaig island and a new local camera will allow visitors to see the eagles in thier nest. Both chickens survived this year.
APPLECROSS INN
Now has a lovely silver Airstream trailer outside serving fish & chips, homemade ice cream and excellent coffee.
NANNY'S TEAROOM
Has now reopened...a new bigger brighter cafe in Shieldaig serving coffee, tea, cakes galore and lunch.
APPLECROSS WALKS
There are several new footpaths in Applecross now with booklets detailing routes and information on the area. The archaeological trail is especially good, taking you through ruined settlements, past the renovated Hebridean barns & roundhouse.
